
VoltEdge Commerce is a fast-growing electronics retailer evolving from a traditional online store into a multi-vendor marketplace. The company wanted to expand its product catalog by onboarding third-party sellers, increasing revenue opportunities, and scaling without the challenges of managing additional inventory. Their vision was to create a centralized marketplace where vendors could independently manage products and orders while maintaining consistent pricing policies, commission structures, and customer experiences through a robust multi-vendor marketplace solution.
Their existing system lacked the scalability needed to support vendor onboarding, product consistency, and high transaction volumes. With plans to grow globally, they needed a secure and flexible marketplace platform that ensures smooth vendor management, reliable performance, and a seamless customer experience.
The first challenge was managing vendor onboarding at scale while ensuring proper verification and compliance. The platform had to support KYC/KYB checks, structured approval workflows, and vendor transparency without making onboarding more difficult.
Maintaining a consistent product catalog across multiple vendors was another major challenge, including handling duplicate listings, inconsistent data, and category mapping. Implementing a flexible commission system based on product categories and vendor tiers, along with managing returns, disputes, and high transaction volumes, added further complexity.
